Chief Regulatory Officer, Immortal Data, Inc.

James C. Bennett is the Chief Regulatory Officer at Immortal Data, Inc. and Principal Investigator for the Commercial Space History Project at the Space Studies Institute. He has an extensive background in commercial spaceflight policy, co-founding Starstruck, Inc. and the American Rocket Company, which helped revive hybrid rocket propulsion.

Bennett has been a consultant on commercial space topics since 1978 and served on advisory committees like the 1984 White House Task Force on Space Commercialization and the UK Spaceplane Regulatory Workshop. He has consulted for clients including NASA, XCOR Aerospace, and the Alaska Aerospace Corporation.

He has written extensively on technology and space policy, with recent works including The Economics of Space (2019). He is the author of The Anglosphere Challenge (2004) and America 3.0 (2013). Bennett is also Space Fellow at the Economic Policy Centre, a board member of the Foresight Nanotechnology Institute, and has served on the National Space Society’s Board of Directors.
