Dr. Chris Iannello brings unparalleled breadth in space electrical and power systems, with 35 years in electrical and power systems across NASA, industry, and academia. Prior to joining UCF, he served as NASA’s longest-tenured Technical Fellow for Electrical/Power, acting as the agency’s senior-most authority in the discipline with an Agency-wide focus across all its lines of business.

Dr. Iannello has been intimately involved in the design, integration, test and flight operations of nearly every major spacecraft and launch system in the U.S. civil and commercial space sectors during his tenure. His unique insight spans the full landscape of concept, design, manufacturing, and test philosophies—from conventional NASA methodologies to the most current commercial approaches. 

At UCF since Fall 2025, Dr. Iannello collaborates with other faculty to develop the nation’s leading space electrical curriculum and innovation hub along with activating critical space sector service and test capabilities.
