Call for Abstracts

Submission Guidelines

  • Deadline: All abstracts must be submitted by October 1, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT.
  • Format: Submit your abstract via email (sss.abstracts@nss.org) as a Word document attachment using the official abstract template.
  • Template Required: Only abstracts following the provided template format will be considered.
  • Email Subject Line: “SSS-2025 Abstract Submission – [Your Name]”
  • Notification: Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified by October 10, 2025.

Abstract Template Download & Submission

Lightning Talks

  • Duration: 10 minutes (strictly timed)
  • Presentation Dates: In-person on November 3 or 4, 2025
  • Location: University of Central Florida (UCF), during Space Week
  • No virtual presentations or remote attendance options available.

Poster Presentations (Overflow Option)

If Lightning Talk slots are full, authors of other accepted abstracts may be invited to present a poster instead. Poster presenters must also attend in person.

  • Poster Dimensions: Maximum size of 3.5 ft x 3 ft

Registration

Authors of accepted abstracts for a Lightning Talk or the Poster session must register for the conference in order to present their paper.

Editing & Publication

After acceptance, an SSS-2025-appointed editor may recommend minor edits for formatting or clarity. Final abstracts will be published in PDF format on the SSS-2025 website and become citable publications:

  • Author A., B. Author & C. Author. 2025. Abstract Title. NSS SSS-2025, Abstract #TBD, [URL link to PDF].

Keynote Speakers

Invited keynote speakers are also encouraged to submit an abstract for publication using the same template and submission process.
